Persephone Minerals: Sailor Senshi Collection Swatches

Hello all! I was originally going to do the Sailor Senshi Collection by Persephone Minerals senshi-by-senshi (which would've made for a total of 4 posts) but I was having way too much fun to stop swatching. These colors are absolutely amazing. Bonus points for the inspiration - Sailor Moon was one of my first loves.

Here are the Inner Senshi:

Freebies included in my order:

My favorite colors have got to be any and all of the Crystal Powers, Ami, Jupiter Oak Evolution, Sailor Mars, and Rei. Honestly, this entire collection was made of win. You do have to pat, not swipe, the 'attacks' on (ie: Mars Crystal Power, Venus Love & Beauty Shock, etc) because of the high glitter content but the formulation is still very good quality. Mars Crystal Power looks absolutely amazing. Mercury Crystal Power is like a blue version of Fyrinnae's Rapunzel Had Extensions.

I will definitely be purchasing some full-size sets from this collection. Also, the owner revealed in her blog that Sailor Moon's set will consist of 12 colors. How freaking amazing is that!?

Anyhoo, what do you guys think about Persephone Minerals? :)

P.S. I've been playing with my new toy. I was so against smart phones (I feel you only truly need one when your work is willing to pay for it) but then I saw this beauty. My will collapsed and I'm pretty sure that when my eyes and its screen connected, the phone and I had this once-in-a-lifetime moment:

Yay for phone! I was against smart phones too but then my trusty Motorola packed up just before I was due to depart for Adelaide, sob. So I own an iphone now. It's a...very tolerant relationship. I know it loves me knowing I'll never love it back. It's tragic really.

Can we say WHOAWOWZA for those colors?! Some are so intense and complicated it's insane that they're meant for your eyes! I think I'll definitely have to look into this collection at some point. I'll drool over your swatches in the meantime!

P.S. Verification word of the day: "puber" I go to such lengths to post comments...

@Suki- My coworkers were telling me I should switch to AT&T to get the iPhone or wait until Verizon came out with it. I don't want AT&T because everywhere I need to be, the reception is horrible. Not to mention, I don't get the hype with the iPhone. I think the appeal is the apps and since the Droid market is full of fun apps, I didn't think I was losing out much. :) I LOVE staring at the screen, hahaha.

Glad you like the swatches!

@The Peach- Awe thank you! I really like this collection so far - I can't wait to see what's coming out with the other characters. :D

I have never wanted any color as much as I want Mars Crystal Power!

Your swatches are the best I've seen out in the blogging world! What camera do you use? Oh, and what do you swatch these pigments over? Do you use a base of any sort? Thanks!!

@Eyeconic - It's really gorgeous! I think it's my favorite of the bunch. :)

@Heather- I use a Sony Cybershot DSC-W330. I swatch all my pigments over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy which is a total godsend. Swatching actually taught me how to use PE, lol. I don't use any base whatsoever so it's just skin, PE, and then the pigment. Hope this helps!

Do you use any special settings or lighting for your swatches?

Lady In A Top Hat said...

Nope, unless you count the lighting in my kitchen. My camera is on the auto setting - it's the only way to get the camera to activate the macro setting since you can't do it manually. So any special lighting is the camera doing it automatically.

Thanks for answering all of my pestering questions! Your swatches are seriously phenomenal! You've helped me pick several colors to buy so please keep it up!! :-)

Girl, you ain't pestering me! Please, ask ask away! I really wish I could've been more help with the camera though - I'm shite at photography. Would you believe I've had this camera for less than 6 months??
