Glamour Doll Eyes Swatches

I really wanted to do the Persephone swatches but I figured I'd get these out of the way since it's a much smaller collection. :)

Here is a bunch of colors I ordered from Glamour Eye Dolls. I've heard about them through Phyrra and decided to purchase when they were having a sale. I had a hard time meeting the minimum purchase amount because there weren't that many original colors that interested me. The unblended colors interested me more.

Unblended colors are basically straight mica mixed with GDE's base.

These are the lovelies:

The last 2 colors were unblended colors. They were also my favorites. Love Affair was a pretty color and I think I would've liked it more had it not been a cool pink. I don't look good with cool pinks so I tend to be all "hiss! boo!" at them. Lol.

I know a lot of people like this store but considering how many unblended colors there were and the fact that GDE's original colors didn't really appeal to me much, I think I might just pass on a return purchase. I already shop a lot at TKB (love that store) so when I purchase from indie companies, I do it to support them and to also get my hands on colors no other stores have. Summer Skies did swatch on very creamy (which means GDE's base seems to be very well-formulated).

What do you think of this store?

I ordered a full-size shadow (Mind Reader), a sample (Radioactive), and a glitter sample (Monster Mash). I like the stuff, but I think that I've been more satisfied with other stuff. There aren't many colors on there that I want anyway.

The glitters are awesome, though. I would by that again for sure.

Sorry, forgot that part.

I tend to stay away from glitters simply because I don't even know how to begin using them. I would love to see some of your looks sometime though!

I feel like the GDE selection is a bit...meh. And they are a bit pricey in my opinion (could be my Asian thrifty-ness though!). I ordered samples from them a while back and have yet to do a post on it. I think I wasn't too impressed. The glitters aren't that awesome I'm afraid to say D: Very pretty but not practical or easily applicable nor do they feel very eye safe. I wear hard contact lenses and so glitter is really a big no no for me.

Sex Appeal and that last purple (I forget the name and don't want to click 'Back'!) are really pretty though. But when it comes down to it I wouldn't purchase either, just because Evil Shades does an awesome purple (Cheshire for the win!!!) and blues aren't easily worn.

...Wow. Long comment XD

Heyas Suki! I love reading long comments! I completely agree with the glitter part too. I think I tend to also avoid using them because I can't tell when it's safe and when it isn't. I know that's the job of the company to let you know but my eyes are super sensitive so I figured to just avoid it all together.

Ergh, blues really aren't easily worn. One of these days...one of these days!

@ladyinatophat- I'm gonna try to get away with staying home tomorrow and doing some looks (I have about 7 sketched out) and I have some saved on my camera, but my skin looks horrible right now and I haven't had ten minutes to myself to even do my makeup regularly. Not to mention I have to be careful because I'm trying to get a job so I can't do anything too crazy.

But yeah, I'll have it up tomorrow night or the day after.

Don't like it. I much prefer original mineral makeup because I buy a lot from TKB too ;)

I really like Fyrinnae (for all), DreamWorld (eyeshadows),Sassy (eyeshadows), Buff'd (face)and Cory (blush, eyeshadows).
And also Silk minerals for their lip products.

For glitters, check TKB, they are minerals glitters, they don't hurt eye and they are awsome mixing with lip, nail or eye products.

I really like these colors, so I may have to get some GDE samples.

Sex Appeal looks really nice...

I wanted to order after Le Gothique showed her Phyrra tower, but of course now they don't have any of those colors on their site. What's with that???

@dull_flame- I'm going to keep an eye out for it. ;]

@Ju- I need to check out DreamWorld. Been meaning to check out Cory because the samples are so cheap! I already have a whole slew of samples from TKB that I have to avoid that website if I'm to have any money left over at the end of the month, lol.

@kathyeffingjacobs- Hallo! I think you should definitely give them a try. I was curious about them and this help satiate that curiosity. :)

@femputer- Sex Appeal is a very pretty teal color. There was a green/yellow shimmer to it. As for the Phyrra tower - I thought Grey said that when she purchased there had only been 4 towers left. Maybe they're out?

Yeah I agree with you on GDE's unblended colors. It's just off putting to see how much of her business is based off of the unblended colors, I might as well do it myself!

I'm not too fond of some of the people she sponsors either so I'm just meh

I feel the same way about Glamour Doll, she has as many unblended colors as original ones, so it's not like there's a big selection. I also ordered a gloss and while it smells really good, it's completely sheer and wears off right away.
