Previews! Plus some stuff on skincare...

So sorry for the lack of posts! It's quarter end so things at the job have been heating up. Working long hours and there's a wedding to attend this weekend. Still sore about missing Halloween and dressing up as a zombie for it. Gonna have to look respectable. Booo. But happy nuptials to the the couple, of course!

I wanted to swatch the Urban Decay Naked Palette but considering so many people have done it already with very thorough reviews, I figured I was just being redundant. Okay, the real reason was that I paid a lot of money for it and it hurt to use it for swatching which I always, always do with a heavy hand. Haha, I'm such a cheapo. Plus, the colors came out looking pretty crappy on camera. :/

I DID order some Evil Shades loose eye shadows and I just got the shipping confirmation today (so fast!). So once I get them, you will be seeing some new swatches. I still have my Fyrinnae swatches to complete.

Also, check out this blast from the past (okay, it was definitely in my childhood memories):

Persephone Minerals: Sailor Senshi - Sailor Venus

Persephone Minerals: Sailor Senshi - Sailor Mars

I need to get the complete Inner Senshi set. Just gotta be patient for Sailor Moon!

Also, I broke out pretty heavily last week. This was worrisome because I NEVER break out. I will get at most 1 large pimple during my monthly. Other than that, nothing. My skin-care routine is super basic too. I use generic facial washes (the ones that always say "comparable to...") and I also use Merlot's Grapeseed Night Cream and SPF 15 Moisturizer.

I don't know what happened but my skin SPAZZED. Red bumps like hives but were in fact, tiny pimples. It looked like I was suffering an allergic reaction. I was not happy and had no idea on how to deal. It is definitely one of these:

- Started using a new blush
- Touching my chin with my hands, mainly to rest my chin on my hands
- Eating potato chips
- Heat getting turned on in my apartment

Since Monday, I stopped using the new blush, am VERY aware of NOT touching my face with my hands, and I also threw away the potato chips. Once my skin cleared up, I will use the new blush again and see if that's the culprit. I actually think it might be the blush but I am hoping it isn't. I also called management to get my air filter replaced. Obviously, junk food consumption should be kept to a minimum. Second, y'all should never touch your face with your hands unless they're clean.

Also, this is now my new skincare routine. I used them in the past and got great results. Then I became cheap and got drugstore stuff. Clearly, it has not been working. I went all out and purchased these puppies Sunday evening:

It's been 2 days. My skin is completely clear. I will begin experimenting (using the blush, replacing air filter) and let you all know the results in my next post (which will hopefully be more swatches!).

Good night for now!

Meow Cosmetics: Dance of Death Swatches

Hello all! Hope your day is going well. I buckled and bought Urban Decay's Naked Palette after much inner monologue. I also attached a Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Professional Size because I've been meaning to try it out. What better time than when I can use it to take advantage of their free shipping? Woo. I can't wait until they both come in.

Caitlin of Shiro Cosmetics also sent me a shipping notification. Eee! I've been watching it like a mad rabbit.

Anyway, today I finally got around to doing my Meow Cosmetics Dance of Death collection. The colors are phenomenal. There's a wide variety of items (eye shadow, veil, liner) and the loose powder goes on quite creamy. As always, everything is swatched over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy in my little kitchen.

The mixing medium I used for the liners was Visine. Haha, I don't have any other mixing medium aside from that and water.

Favorites: Can I say the entire collection? I mean I tried picking out favorites but it was practically every single color. Meow is definitely a favorite in general. <3

Also, Persephone Minerals just debuted another part of their Sailor Senshi Collection:

The Sailor Jupiter Set

The photo was taken from the Etsy store. I put in names so that the colors were easier to separate. Hope I got them all right! I've been stalking the blog and I guess Sailor Venus is coming out next. Wooo! I'm so excited to see what colors are coming.

Arrrgh, was gonna do Zombies next but I'm so tired and I've got work in the mornin'. Night y'all.

Shiro Cosmetics: The Legends Collection + Haul

By way of Painted, I saw that Shiro Cosmetics has just come out with a new collection based off of the video game cult classic: Legend of Zelda.

I love this game. I sucked at it. Had to ask my brother to play it for me so that I could see what happened. I know, I'm lazy and weird. But he did it and we both got enjoyment out of it. Win-win, I say.

Anyway, I've been meaning to try out this company for a while. Every blog I visit has been raving about the awesome that is Caitlin. After a brief interaction with her through customer service myself, I can say that she's super friendly and has a very warm personality. :)

I can't wait to receive my samples!

I got home at 8:30pm today and checked my mailbox. There was nothing. I was perplexed because I got a shipping notification that some packages were coming my way. Usually mail gets sorted out by 4pm at the latest. They must have been super behind today because when my roommate got home (which was 9:30pm), she brought me mail:

BftE Cosmetics: Wizard of Oz

Hello all! So I've still got a couple more collections left to swatch from my second Aromaleigh haul (Ciao Italia and Opulent Lustre being the largest). I also just received a shipping notification from Meow so those shadows should be coming in by the weekend. Yay! Lots of swatching in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, the weather will be amenable to picture taking. :D

In the meantime, Phyrra is having a contest. Win a complete Wizard of Oz mineral eye shadow pigment from her! Check out the details by clicking here.

Have you guys tried BftE Cosmetics? What did you think? I've never tried it before mainly because I find more varieties of colors with Aromaleigh, Meow, and Fyrinnae but I'm always up for something new. :) Definitely putting it on my "To Buy" list.

Aromaleigh: Wonderstruck

I already bought all sample sets of all three before these swatches were released. Why, you ask? Because I have awesome powers of awesome foresight and I just knew how awesomely awesome these colors would be. I will NEVER run out of makeup ever again!

But have you EVER run out of makeup?

No. Because my willpower is non-existent and when I see a pretty color, I just WANT. I thought food was awesome but these new eye shadows are up there. LOL.

*happy sigh*

Must haves: The Wrong Alice, Curious Dream, Flamingo-Go

Must haves: Fiddlesticks (this used to be my frustration word in grade school), Frumious (WOW!), Opiate Advice (haaaa, definitely getting it for the name if not the color. "Oh that's just lovely! What color are you wearing?" "Opiate Advice." Totally sounded funnier in my head party), Rule Forty-Two, Tattered & Grown

Must haves: Will most likely buy everything here.

PURCHASE SAMPLE SETS HERE.

Also, please go see Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga'hoole. It was pretty darned awesome. I now want to read the books and buy myself a pet owl. Are you allowed to keep a pet owl? I've never met anyone who has had a pet owl, only seen it in movies.

Aromaleigh: Spells

Oh. Em. Gee.

The swatches for the Harry Potter collection, "Spells", has been blogged/released/revealed.

SEE IT HURRRRRRRRR.

And look at these PURTY pictures BELOW!

*DROOL*

Must haves: Diffindo, Serpensortia, Nox

Maybes: Everything else.

Must haves: Crucio (why wouldn't I want an eyeshadow named Crucio?), Tarantallegra (I don't even remember what this spell does but I want its prettiness), Protego, Morsmordre

Maybes: Everything else.

Must haves: Wingardium Leviosa, Silencio, Finite, Obliviate

Maybes: Everything else.

It is probably very likely that I will purchase everything in this collection because Harry Potter = LOVE. Don't judge me for my lack of willpower. I'm not ashamed. LOL.

Aromaleigh: Mythos

My wallet is going to bleed black blood, that's how crazy this season is looking to be. For their closing, Aromaleigh is going out with a bang by introducing 3 new collections! The first one has already been introduced and soon, samples and full sizes will be available. I can't wait!!

The next two collections are two literary favorites: "Wonderstruck" based off of Alice In Wonderland and "Spells" based off of Harry Potter. WOO!

Fyrinnae: Dia De Los Muertos

Fyrinnae's been tweeting about this collection for a while now and after all this anticipation, I'm so glad to finally see them on sale!

These guys are really good at what they do (read: colors) and if you weren't convinced by their other collections, you will be now. Whee! Another collection that I am definitely going to get my hands on. :D

Meow Cosmetics: New Collections

I love Halloween. Besides being a season where we can wear some truly funkadelic outfits without any judgement. Plus, indie makeup companies like Meow Cosmetics come out with some super awesome collections! There are a couple of re-releases too - great for newbies like me.

This is the newest collection for 2010. I love the colors!

This is a release of an old collection. Still very pretty.

These appeared earlier this year and has been re-released for this holiday. :D

Another older collection. Purrrrty.

One of the newer, non-holiday related collections. It's a bit opaque for my tastes but I still want to try the colors out too!

Ooo, more of my taste! Decisions, decisions...

Aromaleigh Drama + "Lost In Faerie"

So apparently, there *was* a whole ton of stuff going on with the issues surrounding Aromaleigh and the people attacking her. I think you can get a good idea of what's the 'ugly' in Aromaleigh's closing post. Something called R4TU (Rant4theugly)? Wtf. I dunno. Haha. Go here for the story.

In other happier news, the "Lost In Faerie" collection has been released! There are no color descriptions and this is only a sample set but dang, the colors are BEAUTIFUL. I'm wondering if it's worth it just waiting for the entire set to come out instead of just getting the little baggies. I know 1/16th tsp is a pretty standard sample size but the baggies make it seem so tiny. Yes, appearance is not everything and more than likely, I will break down and just purchase.

I've seen a lot of swatches over the past few days and the colors are all positively GORGEOUS. Take a peek for yourself: Lost In Faerie Sample Set

I received my tracking information for both Sassy Minerals and my TAL (BPAL) order! WOOO. I'm getting a bit worried about my order with Morgana Minerals since it was sent in before Sassy and TAL. I know they take about 1-2 weeks to ship so maybe by the end of next week, if I haven't heard anything, I'll send them a note.

I may be purchasing from Cory Cosmetics soon. Trying to clamp down on the spending. Still...I'm open to any suggestions. :)

I promise swatches will be coming! (July 4th is this weekend though...crap.)
